Parsons High School seniors James Jackson (left front) and Tevin Johnson (right front) sign their letters of intent to play basketball at Labette Community College at the LCC gymnasium Monday evening. The duo is joined on the front row by PHS head coach Mike Krull. Jackson's mother Keisha Johnson, and Johnson's mother and father Imesia Thompson and Kirky Johnson are shown on the back row. Jackson and Johnson helped lead the Vikings to a share of the Southeast Kansas League title in 2011-2012 and were each named first team all-SEK selections. Jackson is the school's all-time leading rebounder while Johnson finished as the all-time PHS leader in assists.

For Oswego, Thursday marked the opening of the team's new softball and baseball facilities located north of OHS. The Indians welcomed St. Paul in baseball and softball for two doubleheaders. OHS softball won 11-7 and 20-5 over St. Paul while St. Paul baseball won 5-1 and 11-6 over Oswego.

McLaughlin's other son JeanLuc looks on as his father finishes his volunteer work for Operation Bright Touch, a non-profit organization that beautifies the city of Parsons by creating and maintaining flower beds around town.The organization is in serious need of volunteers to help maintain the flower beds.
