The driver had the pickup in the wrong gear to back up and the vehicle lurched forward. The driver then tried to brake, but touched the accelerator instead. No injuries were reported.

Labette County High School senior Shelbie Foister signs her letter of intent to play softball for Labette Community College next season. Foister is joined on the front row by her father Kenyon Foister and mother Julie Foister. Labette County High School softball coach Lori Green and LCC head coach Ryan Phillips join them on the back row. Foister is a two-time all-SEK first teamer and was a second-team first baseman her freshman year. She has hit .359 in three years for the Grizzlies, who are the defending SEK champs.
