Labette Community College sophomore short stop Lacie Cook makes a throw to first in an attempted double play Monday afternoon against Cottey College at the LCC diamond in Forest Park. Cook successfully tagged second to make one out but couldn't get the throw to first in time. However, the Lady Cardinals didn't need the double-up in a 13-2 game-one victory over Cottey. LCC won game two 10-0 to secure a two-game sweep.

The runner was thrown out but the sacrifice eventually helped score a run and put Fort Scott up 5-3, but the LCC Cardinals baseball team rallied to win game one 7-5 before winning game two 6-4. After dropping the first two games of a four-game series 4-0 and 2-0 Sunday in Parsons, the LCC baseball team assured a season split with Fort Scott and improved to 20-23 overall and 12-20 within the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Eastern Division. Next up for the Cardinals will be a home series with KCKCC on Saturday and Sunday.
