TRL releases 2012 league softball team
The Three Rivers League has released its all-league softball teams for 2012. Five local players were named to the all-TRL first team including three from league champion Chetopa. Cossou golf benefit
A golf benefit for Lori and Rob Cossou will take place at the Parsons Golf Club on June 23. The Cossou family lost their home and nearly all of their possessions in a flood on the morning of May 1. With no help from their homeowner's insurance, the money raised from the tournament will be donated to the family for help. The tourney will be a three-person scramble format. Labette County High School will offer two sessions of free physicals this year. The first round of physicals will be on Friday for athletes interested in getting the physicals early for the 2012-13 school year. A July 27 session also is scheduled.
