The Labette County High School junior varsity baseball team hosted Frontenac for a pair of games Friday afternoon and came away with two victories.

The St. Paul Indians baseball team improved to 15-2 overall behind three victories earlier this week.
St. Paul took on Oswego High School in a non-league game Monday evening and won 3-1.

Oswego High School's new softball and baseball field will officially be dedicated at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 1 in Oswego. Free hot dogs and soft drinks will be served from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Cool, windy conditions greeted the Southeast Kansas League golfers Thursday in Iola for an SEK event.

The Labette Community College softball team has moved all of its region games with Kansas City Kansas Community College to Saturday due to a likelihood of rain on Sunday.
The Cardinals and Blue Devils were originally supposed to play one game Saturday and a possible two games on Sunday in the best of three series that will open the 2012 Region VI District D tourney.

The Erie High School track team traveled to Neodesha for an invitational track and field meet on Thursday.
Christian Murphy led the way with a first in the 300 hurdles, a second in the high hurdles and a sixth in the shot put.
Justin Hartzell was fifth in the 200 dash, fifth in the long jump and sixth in the 400 dash and discus.

The Parsons Middle School golf team welcomed 10 teams to the Katy Golf Course Thursday for a middle school tourney.

The Parsons High School swimming team competed in Emporia Thursday.
Each member of the team finished with individual best times.
Sophomore Shannon Dunlay finished with a personal best in the 100-yard freestyle, good for fourth, and the 100 breaststroke, good for fifth.
Fellow sophomore swimmer Sydney Markley took a ninth in the 50 freestyle behind a personal best and finished in the top 10 in the 100 breaststroke with a 10th-place finish.

ALTAMONT — The Labette County High School team faced its toughest challenge yet Thursday and rode a 10-run rally to its sixth league sweep of the season.

The Vikings won game one 14-2 and game two 6-2.
In the opener, Sam Vratil pitched four innings and struck out seven against just one hit.
"Sam threw the ball well tonight and had great command of the strike zone. Chris Ponce did a great job behind the plate and has improved each and every game," said PHS head coach Gerald Beardmore.

Labette Community College head coach Ryan Phillips earned his 200th career win Monday afternoon in Parsons in the second game of a doubleheader with Cottey College.
