The Parsons High School swimming team traveled to Winfield Tuesday for a swimming meet. The team was led by the second-place finish from the 200 freestyle relay team consisting of Reagan Argo, Shannon Dunlay, Sydney Markley and Victoria Port. The St. Patrick Catholic School track and field team traveled to the Galena Bulldog Ice Box Invitational on Tuesday. The meet was the first of the season for the Saints. The team met with Kansas Governor Sam Brownback and were recognized during house and senate sessions. The 2011-2012 Cardinals wrestling team brought the NJCAA wrestling championship back to Parsons late February. It was the team's second national title.
