OSWEGO —  The St. Paul Indians swept the Oswego Indians Thursday in a baseball doubleheader. St. Paul won game one 5-1 and game two 11-6. CHERRYVALE — The Labette County Grizzly junior varsity baseball team took two games from Cherryvale on Thursday. The Grizzlies beat the Chargers 11-0 in game one behind 10 hits and finished off Cherryvale in game two 7-1. Jake Mattox drove in three Grizzlies in the opener with three singles. FORT GIBSON LAKE, Okla. — Local tournament angler Jim Zaleski took second place recently in an American Bass Anglers tournament on Fort Gibson Lake in northeast Oklahoma. Labette Community College wrestling coach Joe Renfro has been named the National Wrestling Coaches’ Association Coach of the Year. Renfro, who helped lead the Labette wrestling team to its second NJCAA national title in 2012 was also named the NJCAA Coach of the Year following the tourney.

Lion's club to host 11th annual 3 on 3 tourney in Altamont
The Altamont Lions Club will hold their 11th annual 3 on 3 basketball tourney at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 5 at Harrison Gymnasium at Labette County High School in Altamont.
