CHERRYVALE — Rose Marie Woods, 83, of Cherryvale, died Thursday, April 7, 2011, at Mercy Hospital in Independence.

She was born Nov. 7, 1927, in rural McCune to Everett and Bessie (Copper) Nutt. She attended and graduated from McCune schools.

She married Donald Woods in rural McCune on March 17, 1950. He survives of the home.

Mrs. Woods was a homemaker. She was a member of First Southern Baptist Church in Cherryvale.

Other survivors include three daughters, Donna Standard and her husband, Paul, of Van Buren, Ark., Mary Beth Robb and her husband, Steve, of Pittsburg, and Barbara Schachter and her husband, Eban, of Kansas City, Mo.; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a sister, Betty Smith of rural McCune.

A celebration of life service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at First Southern Baptist Church of Cherryvale with Pastor Ron Garrison officiating. Burial will be at Sherman Cemetery at Sherman.

The family suggests memorials to First Southern Baptist Church and these may be left with Potts Chapel of Cherryvale and Independence or the church.
