ALTAMONT — Orpha Hazel Curran, 99, of Altamont died at 8:30 p.m. Friday, April 22, 2011, at the Parsons Presbyterian Manor.
She was born on Aug. 10, 1911, south of Blue Mound to Charles Franklin and Cloa Maude (Ellithorpe) Murrow. She attended elementary school at the Unity School in the area and attended high school at Blue Mound High School.
On Nov. 17, 1930, she married Gregg Mitchell Curran at Kansas City, Kan. He preceded her in death on April 26, 1988.
She worked at the Braemoor coat factory at Pleasanton, retiring in 1971.
Survivors include three sons, L.D. Curran of Altamont, Jim Curran of Bartlesville, Okla., and Frank Curran of Ottawa; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Others preceding her in death were an infant grandson in 1966 and a granddaughter on Jan. 9, 1997.
The service be at 10 a.m. today at Altamont United Methodist Church. The graveside service will be at 2:30 p.m. today at Sunny Slope Cemetery at Blue Mound. The family received friends on Tuesday at Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Altamont.
