DENNIS — Archie Leon Shepard, 87, of Dennis died on Sunday, May 8, 2011.

He was born on Feb. 23, 1924, in Cherryvale to Newton Harrison and Emma Alice Mae (Adams) Shepard.

Survivors include five sons, Archie Michael Shepard of Hidaway, Texas, Mark Shepard of Missouri City, Texas, Walt Shepard of Colleyville, Texas, Matt Shepard of Sugarland, Texas, and David Shepard of Independence; three daughters, Betty Whittenberg of Pea Ridge, Ark., Mary Alexis Sheappard of Rogers, Ark., and Donna Frazier of Thayer; 21 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Jean; his parents, Newton and Emma; and a son, Timothy Shepard.

The graveside service will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Dennis. Rollins Funeral Home, Rogers, Ark., is in charge of arrangements.
