MOUND VALLEY — Eileen B. Johnson, 89, of Mound Valley died at 11:15 p.m. Sunday, June 5, 2011, at her home.
She was born Aug. 24, 1921, in Ericson, Neb., to Elza and Ruby (Hindman) Wolfe. She grew up and attended schools in Ericson and graduated from high school there. Prior to marriage, she worked briefly at the stockyards in Ericson.
On April 9, 1944, she married Paul Johnson in Ericson. Following marriage, they moved to Mound Valley, where they She was a member of the Altamont Bible Holiness Church. She enjoyed cooking for company and for her family. She possessed a talent for singing and often sang specials for her church as well as for other church gatherings. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family. Her grandchildren can attest to the fact that Grandma always gave them her undivided attention when they were with her.
Survivors include a son, Duane Johnson and his wife, Nancy, of Mound Valley; two grandchildren, Melinda LeAnne Davolt and her husband, John W., of Independence and Sonya Gayle Seniba and her husband, Gary, of North Pole, Alaska; four great-grandchildren, Tryke Wesley Duane Davolt, Donovan Gary Seniba, Lathan Paul Seniba and Cassidy Gayle Seniba; and a sister, Alice Miller and her husband, Walter, of Ewing, Neb.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Johnson, on Jan. 6, 1995.
The service will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Altamont Bible Holiness Church. Burial will be in Mound Valley Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Altamont.
