TOPEKA — Frank Owen Picolet, 56, of Topeka died Wednesday, June 15, 2011, in Topeka.
He was born Oct. 15, 1954, the son of Frank G. and Barbara (Heil) Picolet.
He worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone, from which he retired after 25 years because of his loss of eyesight. He did not let his disability keep him from doing the things he loved, which included fast race cars, traveling, woodworking and helping others.
In August 2000 he met his soulmate,Terri Fultz, and from then they were inseparable.
Survivors include his, wife, Terri Picolet; his children, Tara Shaughnessy, Sean Shaughnessy, Leanne Shaughnessy, Cole (Sara) Shaughnessy; his grandchildren, Molly and Olivia Shaughnessy, Seamus Shaughnessy; his mother, Barbara Picolet; his sisters, Patti Nurnberg, Emporia, Linda (Steve)Vogel, Tecumseh, Karla (Randy)Thies, Tecumseh; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father.
A celebration of life service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home in Topeka, where family will meet with friends from noon to 1 p.m. Inurnment will be at a later date.
