Naydene E. Walters, 85, of Parsons died at 7:45 p.m. Friday, June 17, 2011, at her home.

She was born Jan. 2, 1926, northwest of Dennis, a daughter of Steve and Pearl (Smith) Burlingame. She was raised in and around Dennis and attended school there.

On March 2, 1946, she married Eddie Walters at Oswego. The couple lived for four years on a farm east of Parsons, and then moved into Parsons.

In past years she was a member of the Open Bible Church, where she taught Sunday school and led music. In more recent years, she belonged to Parsons Foursquare Church. She enjoyed sewing, quilting and cooking.

Survivors include her husband, Eddie Walters, of the home; a son, Tom Walters of Parsons; two granddaughters, Heidi Delich of Shawnee and Sarah DeBriere and her husband, Seth, of Kalamazoo, Mich.; three great-grandchildren, Brett Delich, Regan Delich, both of Shawnee, and Sylas DeBriere of Kalamazoo, Mich.; and four sisters, Irma Knedgen of Michigan, Lorene Knedgen, Irene Bolen, both of Parsons, and LaDonna Reedy of Neodesha.

The service was Monday morning at the patio at Memorial Lawn Cemetery.
