CHETOPA — James D. Singleton, 54, of Chetopa died at 5:50 a.m. Wednesday, June 22, 2011, at Chetopa Manor. He had been in failing health.

He was born March 25, 1957, in Kansas City, Mo., to George Edward and Fern (Noble) Singleton. Following high school graduation, he served in the Navy from 1977 to 1981.

H worked as an over-the-road truck driver for Dart Transit Co. in Eagan, Minn.

He married Marie Dunn. She preceded him in death.

Survivors include a brother, Donald Singleton of Chetopa; and a sister, Joyce Kleindl of Minnesota.

He was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.

His body has been donated to science. The Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Chetopa is in charge of arrangements.
