Dolly R. Perez, 85, lifelong Parsons resident, died at 11:05 p.m. Friday, July 1, 2011 at Elmhaven West after a brief illness.

She was born on Nov. 3, 1925, at Parsons a daughter of Grant and Esther (Anderson) Packard. She was raised in Parsons and attended school here. She was employed in explosive ordnance production at the Kansas Ordnance Plant from 1943 to 1945, 1953 to 1954 and from 1967 until retiring in 1988.

On Oct. 4, 1942, she married Robert L. “Bob” Perez at Columbus. He preceded her in death on June 15, 1994.

She was a member of the Church of the Brethren and was active many years in church activities. She was also a member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed bowling on the city league for 22 years and was an avid doll collector.

Survivors include two sons, Stuart Perez and his wife, Catherine, of Cherryvale and John Perez and his wife, Glenda, of Centerton, Ark.; three daughters, Roberta “Bobbie” Harrington and her companion, John, of Pueblo, Colo., Pamela Cruse and her husband, Kenny, and Judy Moore, all of Parsons; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Vincent Trotnic of Parsons; and a sister-in-law Marceline Taylor of Pittsburg.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her stepmother, Gladys Packard; a brother, Eugene Packard; a sister, Juanita Trotnic; and a daughter in-law, Karol Perez.

The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Carson-Wall Funeral Home. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
