She was born in Stark on July 21, 1932, to John and Emma (Vance) Marks. She grew up in St. Paul and attended school there, graduating from St. Paul High School.
She married Robert Steimel on Nov. 25, 1950. They later divorced. During her years in St. Paul, she owned and operated a beauty shop and a day care.
On July 20, 1973, she married Tom Hamilton in Erie. She worked at the Kansas Army Ammunition Plant, and the Hamiltons also operated a mowing service. He preceded her in death on Nov. 16, 2001.
Mrs. Hamilton enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, music and bowling. She loved spending time with her family.
Survivors include three daughters, Nancy Steimel and Janice Strait, both of Parsons, and Cindy Lero and her husband, Rusty, of Erie; three grandchildren, Bethany Kendrick and her husband, Peter, Morgan Strait and Eric Strait and his wife, Haley; two great-grandchildren, Jenna and Josie Kendrick; a sister, Norma Mansker of Wichita; and a sister-in-law, Gladys LaForge of Parsons.
Mrs. Hamilton was preceded in death by three brothers, Joe, Vance and Claude Marks; and three sisters, Hazel Ward, Anna Lucille Marks and Betty Brogan.
The body has been cremated, and the cremains will be buried at Hope Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons.
