MABELVALE, Ark. — Jane I. Switlik, 63, of Mabelvale, Ark., a former Parsons resident, died Friday, July 22, 2011, from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident in Saline County, Ark., near Little Rock.

She was born in Parsons on April 22, 1948, to Earl and Pearl (Whistler) Pruitt. She grew up in Parsons and attended Parsons schools.

She was a registered nurse for the Pulaski County Health Department and was a member of the Cathedral of St. Andrew’s Catholic Church. She loved taking care of her patients and would always go above and beyond to make them feel comfortable.

Her husband, kids and grandkids were her life. She enjoyed crocheting, swimming, camping and cheering on her favorite sports teams. She was an animal lover, and her dogs will miss her greatly.

Survivors include her husband, Paul Anthony Switlik of Mabelvale; a son, Michael P. Switlik of Little Rock; a daughter, Kimberly D. Barsell and her husband, Jeremy, of Little Rock; two grandchildren, Rachael Barsell and Alex Barsell; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Cathedral of St. Andrew, Little Rock. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home, Little Rock, with a rosary service at 7 p.m. today in the funeral home chapel.

The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Carson-Wall Funeral Home, Parsons, with a rosary service beginning at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery in Galesburg.
