ALTAMONT — Joshua W. “Josh” Traxson, 29, of Altamont died early Sunday morning, Aug. 14, 2011.
He was born Feb. 15, 1982, in Joplin to Charles “Scott” and Cindy K. (Davidson) Traxson. He grew up and attended schools in Altamont and was a graduate of Labette County High School.
He had attended the United Methodist Church in Altamont. Josh was an accomplished golfer and had received various golfing awards through the years. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and rock engraving.
Survivors include his father, Scott Traxson of Altamont; his mother, Cindy Traxson of Altamont; a sister, Jenny Stewart and her husband, Jerry, of Altamont; a nephew, Zack; and three nieces, Kelsie, Aubree and Haleigh.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, F.G. Traxson, Helen (Todd) Traxson, Denzil Davidson and Doris (Stevens) Davidson; and an aunt, Peggy (Davidson) Palmer.
A memorial graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Altamont. Casual dress for the service is requested. K.C. Chiefs/ K.U. Jayhawk attire would be wonderful, as Josh was a big fan of both.
