OSWEGO — Richard E. Weston, 83, of Oswego died at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2011, at Freeman Hospital in Joplin from cancer.

He was born Dec. 1, 1927, in Dexter to Ollie and Sadie (Gardner) Weston. He graduated from high school in Arkansas City. He enlisted in the Army in 1946. He owned and operated Weston’s Flowers and greenhouse in Oswego for 32 years.

He married Barbara Hettick on Oct. 27, 1972, at Oswego. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include sons Dick Weston and Daryl Weston; daughters Susan Eck and Lori White; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; three sisters; and a brother.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; a sister; and a son, Danny.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Sept. 24 at Oswego United Methodist Church.
