CHERRYVALE — Dona Jo Froebe, 71, of rural Cherryvale died at 3:31 p.m. Friday, Sept. 23, 2011, at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center. She had been in failing health.

She was born April 8, 1940, at Cheyenne, Okla., to Edward and Nancy (Hensley) Lutz. She attended school in the Mound Valley area and was a graduate of Labette County Community High School in Altamont.

She worked for the Farm Service Agency in Independence.

She married Dean Froebe on Aug. 27, 1961, at Mound Valley. He survives of the home.

Other survivors include two sons, Steve Froebe of Seattle, Wash., and Doug Froebe of Independence; a daughter, Debbie Hudson of Dewey, Okla.; eight grandchildren; and two brothers, Alfred Lutz of Oswego and Cleo Lutz of Elk City.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother.

The service will be at 10:30 a.m. today at the Altamont United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at the Mound Valley Cemetery.
