He was born on Nov. 7, 1929, in Coffeyville to Clarence and Louisa (Franks) Sprague. As a young boy, he grew up and attended school in Coffeyville.
He worked for 24 years as a core setter at Jensen International, retiring in 1993.
He married Peggy Larkin. She preceded him in death.
He married Fern Louise Nickel on April 20, 1954, in Bartlesville, Okla. She preceded him in death on Aug. 15, 2010.
Survivors include two sons, Robert Sprague of Coffeyville and David Sprague of Caney; two daughters, Kathy Green of Independence and Margret Dixon of Coffeyville; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a brother, Franklin Sprague of Coffeyville; and two sisters, Louise Tosh and Phyllis Hall, both of Coffeyville.
He was preceded in death by a brother, four sisters and his infant twin brother, Ronald Sprague.
The graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Lake Creek Cemetery near Bartlett. Friends may call after 1 p.m. Thursday at Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home, Chetopa.
