BEND, Ore. — Bill L. Dunnic, 73, of Bend, Ore., died on Saturday, Sept. 24, 2011, at his home following a lengthy illness.

He was born on Nov. 20, 1937, to John William and Alice Maude (Atkinson) Dunnic. He was raised in the McCune area and attended school there.

He worked in the mining industry for many years.

Survivors include his longtime companion, Sue Remmich of the home; two daughters, Lori Cole of Pittsburg and Tracy Wertz of Altamont; a son, Billy Dunnic of Joplin; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Wilma Parsons.

Following cremation, there will be a service at a later date.

Memorials are suggested to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
