CHERRYVALE — Louise Brothers, 95, of Cherryvale died Sunday, Oct. 2, 2011, at her home.

She was born Dec. 18, 1915, at Liberty to Wilson and Josephine Jane (Van Cleave) Eikenberry. She attended Liberty and Cherryvale schools and graduated from Cherryvale High School in 1932.

She married Ernest Virgil Brothers on Sept. 26, 1940, at Sedan. He died July 11, 1977.

Survivors include a son, Ernest W. “Dob” Brothers of rural Cherryvale; a daughter, Betty Spencer of Kansas City, Mo.; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Reed Eikenberry of Cherryvale and Kenneth Eikenberry of Leoti.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Jane L. McNickle; and two brothers, Bob and Eldon Eikenberry.

The celebration of life service will be at 10:30 a.m. today at Potts Chapel in Cherryvale. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery at Cherryvale.

The family suggests memorials to the Cherryvale Alumni Scholarship Fund and left in care of the funeral home.
