SUNNYVALE, Calif. — Richard G. “Dick” Simon. 90, a former Parsons resident, died Sunday, Oct. 2, 2011, in Sunnyvale, Calif. He moved there from Greeley, Colo., where he lived many years.
In the 1950s he lived in Parsons and taught at the former West Junior High School.
He was born in 1921 at Carterville, Mo., to John and Frances Simon. He moved to Greeley from Parsons in 1960 and taught music in the Greeley-Evans School District 6 for many years, most notably as the director of choral music at Greeley West High School.
Surviving are his wife of 65 years, Evelyn Simon; sons, Doug of Sunnyvale and Bob of Minneapolis, Minn.; and three grandchildren.
He was a veteran of World War II. A military service was at 2 p.m. Friday at the Veterans Administration Chapel in Palo Alto, Calif., and burial was at the National Veterans Cemetery in Dickson, Calif., near Sacramento.
