CHERRYVALE — Dorothy M. Lee, 85, of Cherryvale died Sunday, Oct. 9, 2011 at the Cherryvale Nursing and Rehab Center.

She was born June 18, 1926, in Toledo, Ohio, to Howard and Eva A. (Crosser) Townsend. She attended school in Toledo.

She married Herbert Jeffries on Feb. 9, 1945, in Colorado Springs, Colo. She later married Melvin Lee. They later divorced.

She was a homemaker.

Survivors include two sons, Danny Jeffries of Cherryvale and Keith Jeffries of Neosho, Mo.; two daughters, Charlotte Teats of Independence and Joyce Kimble of Tennessee; nine grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Frank Townsend and Harold Townsend, both of Denver.

The celebration of life service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church in Cherryvale. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery at Cherryvale.
