OSWEGO — Virginia L. Westall, 89, of Oswego died at 1:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 27, 2011, at Ranchwood Nursing Home in Yukon, Okla., after a lengthy illness.
She was born June 10, 1922, in Cherokee County. She was reared by John and Hazel Lovelady. She grew up in the Oswego area and graduated from Oswego High School.
She worked at the Kansas Army Ammunition Plant for a number of years and also farmed with her husband. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Oswego.
On June 13, 1939, she married Jack Westall Jr. in Columbus. They were later divorced.
Survivors include a son, John “Butch” Westall and his wife, Mary, of Oswego; a daughter, Ginger Spencer and her husband, Bill, of Mustang, Okla.; four grandchildren, Toni Coppock and her husband, Ben, of Oswego, Michelle Hinkle of Midwest City, Okla., Jack Westall II of Rolla, Mo., and Christy Woolsey of Rolla, Mo.; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Jack L. Westall, in July 1992; and a granddaughter, Melanie Riggs, in May 2006.
A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Oswego Cemetery with Pastor Tom Heflin officiating.
The family suggests memorials to First Baptist Church of Oswego.
