SAN ANGELO, Texas — Michael D. Shook, 58, San Angelo, Texas, formerly of the Chanute and Erie areas, died Saturday, Oct. 8, 2011, at Shannon Hospital in San Angelo after a long illness.

He was born Dec. 23, 1952, in Chanute to Francis B. and Lucille Shook. He graduated from Erie High School.

Mr. Shook worked in the insurance business.

Survivors include his mother, Lucille, of Fredonia; four sons, Christopher of Tulsa, Justin, Chad and Jacob, all of Pittsburg; two daughters, LoWanda of Nowata, Okla., and Dawnita Shook of Pittsburg; and five sisters, Evelyn Hockett of Yates Center, Verna Smith of Fredonia, Karen Aikins of Bixby, Okla., Kathy Jones of Belle Plain and Christine Wilson of Coffeyville.

He was preceded in death by a son, Michael D. Shook Jr.; and his father, Francis Shook, who died in November 1999.

The service was in October in San Angelo. Burial was in the Shaw Cemetery northwest of Erie. The Johnson Funeral Home of San Angelo was in charge of arrangements.
