COFFEYVILLE — Ruby Belle McCaslin, 86, of Coffeyville, formerly of Chanute, died Saturday, Dec. 3, 2011, at the Windsor Place Nursing Home in Coffeyville.

She was born in Oklahoma on Jan. 25, 1925, the daughter of Oliver Ross and Bessie (Winston) Dawson. She attended schools in Oklahoma.

She married Max L. McCaslin on Jan. 16, 1944, at McCune. He preceded her in death in February 1999.

She was a homemaker.

Survivors include a daughter, Jewel Ware and her husband, Carl, of New Strawn; two grandchildren, Jeff Ware of Olathe and Matt Ware and his wife, Nicki, of Prairie Village; three great-grandchildren, Stevie Bulger of Webb City, Mo., Keifer Ware of Olathe and Marlee Ware of Prairie Village; two great-great-grandchildren, Landen Ware and Emmie Bulger, both of Webb City, Mo.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Oliver and Bessie Dawson; her husband, Max McCaslin; a grandson, Steven Ware; a granddaughter-in-law, Diana Ritz-Ware; six brothers; and two sisters.

The service will be at 2 p.m. today at the Penwell-Gabel Gibson Chapel in Chanute. Burial will follow at the Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family will receive friends for an hour before the service today at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, the American Diabetes Association or the American Kidney Foundation and may be left with the funeral home.
