OVERLAND PARK — Dorothy Dingus, 77, of Overland Park, Kansas, passed away on Sunday, December 11, 2011, at home surrounded by her loved ones. Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, December 17, 2011, at D.W. Newcomer’s Sons Overland Park Chapel.
Dorothy is survived by her six loving children, Eddie Hubbard (Donna); Joe Hubbard (Melody); Mike Dingus; Dennis Dingus; Lisa Valdiviez (Ron); Julie Dingus-Davison (Clinton) and her 13 amazing grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and many nieces; nephews; cousins and friends.
Dorothy was born on December 3, 1934, in Sikeston, Missouri, where she attended school until the family moved to Parsons, Kansas. There she met her lifelong friend Jean Sayre and stayed until moving to Overland Park, Kansas. She is survived by three brothers, Earl Whittley (Carol); Mac Whittley; and Donald Hodges (Nancy). She will joining her parents, Everett Whittley (Father); Mary Hobbs-Whittley-Hodges (Mother); Francis Hodges (Stepfather); two brothers, Ralph Whittley; Gilbert Whittley; and five sisters, Sarah Elizabeth Whittley; Lollie Mae Whittley; Mae Schmidts; Mary Huffman; and Marie Gamblin.
Dorothy will also be returning back to the loving arms of her husband of 50 years, Carl Dingus, where they will continue their on-going love for each other.
