McCUNE — Arthur Jenkinson, 59, of rural McCune died at 10:50 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2011, at the Golden Living Center at Pittsburg. He had been in failing health for the last year.

He was born March 10, 1952, at Girard a son of Raymond Eldon and Mary Maxine (Roseboom) Jenkinson. He grew up and attended school in Girard. He lived many years at Columbus before moving to rural McCune. He worked as a welder and farmed also.

He attended the United Chapel at McCune. In addition to farming, he enjoyed gardening.

Survivors include a son, Arthur Jenkinson Jr. of Wichita; a daughter, Lynn Moore and her husband, Jerry, of Pittsburg; two grandchildren, Bret Moore and Tristan Moore, both of Pittsburg; his parents, Raymond E. and Maxine Jenkinson of Girard; a brother, Eldon Jenkinson of Wichita; and two sisters, Debra Clark and her husband, Dave, of Wichita and Mary Sargent and her husband, Clayton, of Carthage, Mo.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Gerald Lee “Jerry” Jenkinson, on July 26, 1989.

The service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Smith-Carson-Wall Funeral Home in Girard. Burial will be in the Girard Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
