CONROE, Texas — Buddy Leonard Hulsman, D.O., of Conroe, Texas, 77, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, Jan. 1, 2012, in The Woodlands, Texas.

Buddy was born on Feb. 11, 1934, in Carthage, Mo., to Henry and Opal Hulsman. He graduated from Will Rogers High School in Tulsa in 1952.

He served in the U.S. Army as a private first class. He obtained a bachelor of science degree from the University of Tulsa in 1966 and a D.O. degree from Kansas City College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1970.

Owning and restoring antique cars, golfing and spending time with his children and grandchildren were among Buddy’s numerous hobbies. He was a member of Mims Baptist Church. He served as president of Parsons Chapter of Lions Club International from 1977 to 1978.

He practiced family medicine until June 30, 2003.

Survivors include his loving wife of 50 years, Darlene Hulsman of Conroe, Texas; a daughter, Leanne Smith of Montgomery, Texas; a son, Robert Hulsman of Los Angeles; two grandchildren, Carlee and Kaely Smith; and numerous other friends and relatives.

The service will be at 3 p.m. Friday in Cashner Colonial Chapel, Conroe, Texas, with Brother Gene Kendrick and Brother John Chastain officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Cashner Funeral Home. Burial will follow at a later date in Houston National Cemetery.
