JOPLIN — Imogene Springer, 85, of Joplin died at 11:37 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2012, at Freeman Hospital West in Joplin following a short illness.

Imogene was born on July 18, 1926, in Erie.

Imogene married Jean Douglas Springer on Dec. 2, 1946, in Hailey, Idaho. He preceded her in death on Dec. 3, 2000.

Imogene and her husband owned and operated Park Motel in Cherryvale for 22 years, retiring in 1978.

Survivors include two sons, Scott Springer of Joplin and Jerry Springer of Bixby, Okla.; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

The service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Mason-Woodard Chapel, Joplin. Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery in Galesburg. The family will receive friends immediately after the service.
