WEBB CITY, Mo. — Timothy Ray “Chip” Beck Jr., 40, Webb City, Mo., died on Monday, June 11, 2012, at his home.

He was born May 24, 1972, in Columbia, Mo., son of the late Timothy Ray Beck Sr. and Lillie Dianne Camper Hurley of Oswego. He graduated from Oswego High School and then attended Independence Community College on a track scholarship.

After school he moved to Tulsa, Okla., and worked as a iron worker in construction. He moved to the Joplin area several years ago and has continued to work in construction, most recently with Wood Re New.

Survivors include his mother, Lillie Hurley and her husband, Dan, of Oswego; a son, Zachary Beck of Broken Arrow, Okla.; a daughter, Emily Beck of Broken Arrow, Okla.; a sister, Joy Campbell and her husband, Dennis, of Carl Junction, Mo.; half brothers, Jason Salter and Jeffery Salter, both of Arizona, and Joshua Beck of Salina; nieces, Kayla Campbell, Shelby Campbell; a nephew, Keaton Barnes; and his stepmother, Krista Beck of Joplin.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Eastside River Park, East Pavilion, in Chetopa, by family and friends.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary of Joplin.
