Nadine M. Lorenz, 81, of Parsons died at 6:55 a.m. Thursday, June 21, 2012, at her home.
She was born on June 26, 1930, at Parsons to William and Marjorie (Osborn) Amrine. She grew up at Parsons and attended Parsons schools graduating from Parsons High School in 1948. She worked at Hallmark in Parsons for a few years.
She married Lesley E. "Les" Lorenz on Christmas Day in 1951 at First Baptist Church. He preceded her in death on Sept. 14, 2010.
She was a homemaker and later worked as the office manager at the Union Gas Co. She was also involved with her husband’s ministry.
She was a longtime faithful member of First Baptist Church in Parsons. She served as a Sunday school teacher, sang in the Chancel and Keenager choirs, she helped in the church kitchen with meals, assisted with vacation Bible school in the summers, served as a youth sponsor and participated in Macedonia Ministries.
She enjoyed taking care of people, including her family and neighbors. She made the best homemade ice cream and apple pie. She also enjoyed gardening and going out for ice cream with family and friends.
Nadine is survived by two daughters, the Rev. Debi Lorenz and Connie Bolt, both of Parsons; two grandsons, Jason Bolt and his wife, Darah, of Riverton and Josh Bolt and his wife, Minna, of Parsons; five great-grandchildren, Bryce Bolt, Ethan Florence, Ragan Bolt, Jaxen Bolt and Grayson Bolt; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty VanDyne and Norma Lacy.
The service will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church in Parsons. Burial will follow in Memorial Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 to 5 p.m. at Carson-Wall Funeral Home.
