FERRIS, Texas — Betty Arlene Hapner, 79, of Ferris, Texas, died Tuesday, June 26, 2012, in Ferris, Texas.

She was born in Welch, Okla., on Sept. 13, 1932, to Hosea and Bessie (McCreery) Bradbury. She grew up in Altamont and graduated from Labette County Community High School.

In 1953 she married James Hapner and they lived in Kansas; they later divorced.

She enjoyed going out on Saturday evenings to dance. She enjoyed riding motorcycles and motorcycle rallies with her life friend Richard Guse.

She is survived by her sons,  Rodney Hapner and his wife, Kelly, and Patrick Hapner and his wife, Karen; daughters, Deb Simms and her husband, Larry,  and Paula Moffett; 17 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; brothers, Robert Bradbury, Floyd Bradbury, Douglas Bradbury and Clyde Bradbury; and sisters, Rosemary Sandy, Carolyn Nading and Judy McGinnis.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Hosea Bradbury Jr.

A celebration of life service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel in Ennis, Texas. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Rodney Hapner, Patrick Hapner, Larry Simms, Jameson, Hapner, Brian Guinn and Gary Ross.
