CHETOPA — Rita Stalnaker, 65, of Chetopa died Saturday, June 30, 2012, at Labette Health in Parsons.

She was born on Sept. 9, 1946, to Francis and Mary (Martin) Stayrook in New Baltimore, Pa. She grew up in New Baltimore.

In 1968, she married Thomas David Stalnaker in Erie, Pa.

Survivors include two daughters, Shannon Arcoria of Chetopa and Naomi Stalnaker of Las Vegas; a son, Thomas Stalnaker of Kersey, Colo.; a brother; Fred Stayrook of Las Vegas; and eight grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband and parents.

Following her wish, cremation has occurred. No services are planned at this time. David W. Barnes Funeral Home, Coffeyville, is in charge of arrangements.
