Cicero Lee Owens Sr., 60, of Parsons died at 2:45 a.m. Thursday, July 19, 2012, at Freeman Hospital in Joplin. He had been in his usual health until being stricken with a sudden double stroke.

He was born on Sept. 6, 1951, in Parsons to Archie Lee Bradford and Mary E. (Conger) Owens. He grew up in Parsons, where he attended school.

He worked for Larry Lamb Construction Co.

Survivors include a son, Cicero Lee Owens Jr. of Kansas City, Mo.; his mother, Mary Owens of Parsons; two brothers, Robert “Bobby” Owens and Clyde McGlory Sr., both of Temple, Texas; and two sisters, Shirley Nelson and Dorothy Gross, both of Parsons.

He was preceded in death by his father, Archie Lee Bradford; and two brothers, Guy “Ricky” Owens and George Owens.

The service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Watson Memorial Church of God in Christ in Parsons. The family will receive friends from noon until service time Thursday at the church.
