OSWEGO — Sharon Kay Moore, 66, died unexpectedly Monday, Aug. 27, 2012, at her home.

She was born July 4, 1946, in Oswego to Herman and Barbara (Madison) Foster. She returned to Oswego 18 years ago after living in Altamont and Parsons.

She worked several years at the Kansas Army Ammunition Plant in Parsons, retiring in 2008. She enjoyed gardening and rock collecting, but her favorite pastime was spoiling her grandkids.

She married David Rakes. She later married Don Moore in Parsons. He died in 1976.

Survivors include two sons, Stanley Rakes and Lonnie Rakes, both of Oswego; a daughter, Kimberly Kirk, of Oswego; six grandchildren, Ashley Dieker, Wesley Rakes, Jared Amos, Kylie Blackburn, Tori Rakes and Kyle Kirk; three great-grandchildren; her mother, Barbara Jean Cantrell of Red Bud, Ill.; two brothers, Dwayne Vance of Iola and David Foster of Dallas; a half brother, James Cantrell of Red Bud, Ill.; and a half sister, Laura Cantrell of Ellis Grove, Ill.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Derfelt Funeral Home in Oswego. Mrs. Moore will be cremated. The family will bury the cremains at a later date.
