JOPLIN — Samantha S. Simon, 19, of Joplin died at her home Thursday, Oct. 4, 2012. 

She was born on July 14, 1993, in Joplin to Orvil C. Spencer and Chenise A. Simon. She was raised in Fort Wayne, Ind., Kansas City and Winston-Salem, N.C. She graduated from Mount Tabor High School, Winston-Salem, in 2011.

She worked at Subway.

Survivors include her mother, Chenise Simon of Winston-Salem, N.C.; her father, Orvil Spencer of Joplin; a daughter; a sister, Sadie Simon of Winston-Salem, N.C.; a half brother, Jonathan Spencer; a maternal grandfather, James Simon of Erie; a maternal grandmother, Victoria Scott of Advance, N.C.; paternal grandparents, Kenny and Polly Melton of Joplin; and her maternal great-grandmothers, Helen Simon of Parsons and Jacqualine Nash of Altamont.

The service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Grace Baptist Church in Altamont. The family received friends on Sunday at Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons.
