EDNA — Ryker Layne Bowers, cherished son of Nick Bowers and KayLeigh Hurst, was born without a heartbeat at 1:31 a.m. Monday, Oct. 1, 2012, at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center.

He is greeted in heaven by his grandfathers, Johnny Alan Hurst of Edna, and Nick's dad, Kenneth Lynn Bowers of Olathe, and mourned on earth by his grandmothers, Cindy Hurst of Edna and Mary Peyton of Coffeyville, and a half brother, Jordan Bowers of Coffeyville.

A graveside service was at 2 p.m. Oct. 4 at Cherryvale Cemetery officiated by Pastor Mark Wilson. Ryker was baptized by Pastor Wilson.

The family has suggested memorials to the Ryker Layne Bowers Memorial Stone Fund and contributions may be left at Potts Chapel in Cherryvale and can be mailed to P.O. Box 801, Independence, 67301.
