LAWTON, Okla. — John Oliver Walker Jr., 63, of Lawton, Okla., died Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, at a hospital in Lawton, Okla.
He was born July 1, 1949, in Parsons to John and Maybelle (Journot) Walker. He attended schools in Altamont and graduated from Labette County High School in 1968. He was drafted into the Army in 1969 and served in Vietnam. He retired after 23 years of service. After that he was a truck driver.
He married Brunhilde Strauch on Dec. 11, 1979. She survives of Lawton, Okla.
Other survivors include three sons, Thomas Horn of Cache, Okla., Stefan Horn of Elgin, Okla., and Bradley Walker of Kansas; a grandchild; a brother, James Walker of Oswego; and three sisters, Sheryl Lundy, Leeann Driggs and Jeannie Journot, all of El Dorado Springs, Mo.
He was preceded in death by both parents; a brother, Jackie D Walker; and two sisters, Patricia Hunt and Mary Kay Walker.
The service will be 11:45 a.m. today at Grierson Hill Chapel in Fort Sill, Okla. Burial will be at Fort Sill National Cemetery, Elgin, Okla.
