Leonel E. “Tut” Tustison, 93, of Parsons died at 11:34 p.m. Friday, Dec. 28, 2012, at the Elmhaven West. His wife, Helen, preceded him in death earlier the same day.
He was born in Parsons on Jan. 28, 1919, to Leon E. and Nell G. (Harkness) Tustison. He graduated from Parsons High School in 1937 and also attended the University of Arizona, the University of New Mexico and Louisiana State University. He moved to Baton Rouge, La., in 1942 and lived there more than 50 years, returning to Parsons in 1993.
He was employed 40 years by the Exxon Oil Co., retiring in 1982 as senior analyst in employee relations. He was a longtime member of the Kiwanis Club and the Masonic Lodge.
On Christmas Day in 1941 he and Helen LaRue were married in the First Presbyterian Church in Parsons. They observed their 71st anniversary the day after Christmas.
The service will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Carson-Wall Funeral Home. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call at their convenience on Tuesday.
