BUTLER, Mo. — David Roy Tarvin, 64, of Butler, Mo., died Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, at St. Joseph Medical Center in Kansas City, Mo.

He was born on April 8, 1948, to Roy Emil and Alice Evaleen (Duffield) Tarvin in Parsons.

Survivors include his wife, Gwen Tarvin of Butler, Mo.; two sons, Roy Dean Tarvin and his wife, Jamie, of Billings, Mo., and Lynn David Tarvin and his wife, Angela, of Independence, Mo.; five sisters, Betty Jo Collins, Jackie Sexton, both of Parsons, Edwina Brennon and her husband, Al, Carolyn Evel, all of Erie, and Marilyn Barker and her husband, Melvin, of Fort Scott; his father-in-law, Norris Dean Garnett and his wife, Elizabeth, of Butler, Mo.; four brothers-in-law, Jim Garnett of Butler, Mo., Don Garnett and his wife, Janet, of Amsterdam, Mo., David Garnett and his wife, Rita, of Stella, Mo., and Alan Garnett and his wife, Summer, of Richmond, Va.; three grandsons, Roy Micheal “Mike” Tarvin, Johnathan “John” Wayne Tarvin and Nicolas Kolequitt “Kole” Tarvin; and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his mother-in-law, Irene Garnett; two brothers-in-law, Dale Evel and Jim Sexton; and a sister-in-law, Kathy Garnett.

The service is at 10 a.m. Thursday at Schowengerdt Funeral Chapel, Butler, Mo., with Pastor Lynn Snapp officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Butler, Mo.

Memorials are suggested to Immanuel Baptist Church, Butler, Mo.
