Katherine Ann Kirby of Parsons died unexpectedly on Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013, in her home.

She was born on July 15, 1962, in Burlington, Colo., to Lewis Kirby and Glovine Kirby Golemboski. She grew up on a farm north of Burlington, graduating from Burlington High School.

Survivors include her mother; and two sisters, Alice Russell and Jeanie Sies, both of Colby.

She was preceded in death by her father; and a brother, Billy J. Kirby.

After cremation, the family will have memorial services at later dates in Colby and Parsons. Highland Funeral Home & Crematory, Kansas City, Kan., is in charge of arrangements.
