CHERRYVALE — Ruby R. Rogers, 73, of Cherryvale died of cancer on Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013, at her home.

She was born on Feb. 23, 1939, in Galesburg to Lee and Opal (Hizey) Ward. She grew up in Galesburg, where she attended Galesburg High School, graduating in 1957.

On Oct. 11, 1962, in Miami, Okla., she married James F. Rogers. He survives of the home.

She worked for Dr. Phillip Eastep in Cherryvale from 1978 until her retirement in 2000.

Other survivors include three daughters, Jammy Froebe of Neodesha, Jennifer Culbertson of Lawrence and Rhonda Rohr of Altoona; a son, Mike Rogers of Tulsa; six grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; and two sisters, Nelva Drummond of Chanute and Beulah Barker of Thayer.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lee and Opal Ward; and three brothers, Fred Bolinger, Ernie Ward and Wayne Ward.

The service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at First Southern Baptist Church in Cherryvale. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Cherryvale. Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Friday, with family receiving friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m., at Wickham Family Funeral Home, Cherryvale.

Memorials are suggested to New Hope Christian Church of Cherryvale and may be left at the funeral home.
