GALESBURG — Paula K. Trim, 83, of Galesburg died at 10:45 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2013, at her home. She had been in failing health.

She was born on Dec. 31, 1929, at Seiling, Okla., to Dean and Lillian (Burchett) Bartell. She grew up at Seiling and attended Seiling schools.

She married Clifton S. Trim on March 20, 1946, at Clinton, Okla. He preceded her in death on Dec. 18, 1987.

She married Allen Coover on Nov. 9, 1991, at Galesburg Christian Church. They later divorced.

They moved to northern California, where her husband worked as a logger for a few years. They then moved to the Galesburg area, where she and her husband farmed. After Clifton passed away, she moved north of Erie and later back to Galesburg. She was a homemaker and had several part-time jobs, including working at Galesburg Senior Center, which was her favorite job.

She was a member of Galesburg Christian Church. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking, taking vacations and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Survivors include four daughters, Carol Semrad and her husband, Joe, Patty Hasty and her husband, John, LouAnn White, and her husband, Brit, and Debbie Tromsness and her husband, Andy, all of Galesburg; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; her brother, LaVerne Bartell of Topeka; and two sisters-in-law, Sue Goins of Thayer and Nelda Patterson of Oklahoma.

In addition to her husband, Clifton, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Beverly Trim, and two brothers, Leonard Bartell and Jesse Bartell.

The service will be at 6 p.m. today at Galesburg Christian Church. Burial was on Wednesday at East Hill Cemetery in Erie. Carson-Wall Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
