Mildred M. Dessenberger Beeson, 97, of Parsons died at 10:25 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013, at Elmhaven West nursing home in Parsons.

She was born on Oct. 10, 1915, at Ewing, Neb., to Chan and Helen (Carson) Waller. She grew up at Ewing and Mound Valley and attended schools there. She attended Mound Valley High School.

Mildred lived at Edna, Coffeyville and most recently Parsons. She worked at Automotive Control in Independence, her family’s trucking business, and at the Kansas Army Ammunition Plant (Day and Zimmermann), from where she retired. She was a member of Bible Baptist Church of Coffeyville.

She married Cecil Dessenberger on March 17, 1934, at Oswego. He preceded her in death on March 17, 1975.

She married Loyd Beeson on Sept. 8, 1981. He preceded her in death on Nov. 17, 1991.

Survivors include a son, Larry Dessenberger, and his wife, Linda, of Parsons; a daughter, Judy Sturgeon, and her husband, Jerry, of Coffeyville; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lola Traxson of Bartlesville, Okla., and Patsy Terrell of Tulsa; and two stepsons, Gary Beeson of Mound Valley and Jim Beeson of Chetopa.

In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by a son, Darrell Dessenberger; a brother; and two sisters.

The service will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Carson-Wall Funeral Home in Parsons. Burial will follow in Mound Valley Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
