He was born on March 15, 1960, in St. Charles, Mo., to Bobby E. and Rose A. (Vitt) Harmon. He was a graduate of St. Paul High School and graduated from Pittsburg State University School of Refrigeration and Air Conditioning.
Mr. Harmon was employed by Frito Lay as a maintenance technician for 27 years.
He was an active member of the West Franklin community and coached softball for 25 years. He attended Michigan Valley Methodist Church.
Tom married Becky Fannin on Nov. 15, 1980, in St. Paul. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include his parents of St. Paul; six children, Angela (Jessie Gonzales) Harmon of Vassar, Tonya (Daniel) Forbis of Michigan Valley, Tommy (Jerrica) Harmon of Pomona, Bryant (Cassie) Harmon of Baldwin City, Alyssa (Mark McCain) Harmon of Michigan Valley and Macayla “Oobie” Harmon of the home; eight grandchildren, Alexandria, Dawson, Morgan, Gavin, Linden, Ashton, Sophia and Mayson; four brothers, Randy Harmon, Steve Harmon, Tim Harmon and Bill Harmon; and a sister, Kristi Goodman.
The service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Ave, Topeka, 66608. Interment will follow at Auburn Cemetery, Auburn. Visitation will be after 3 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
