He was born on Sept. 4, 1923, at Parsons to Bruce S. and Norma (Saunders) Head. He grew up and attended school at Parsons.
For the majority of his life, he owned and operated Head’s Dairy. He later was employed at Dayton Superior until he retired.
On Aug. 10, 1956, he married Nancy Jean Johnson. She preceded him in death on Sept. 27, 1993.
Survivors include a daughter, Janis James and her husband, Virgil, of Parsons; a son, Jarold “Jed” Head, and his wife, Maria, of Parsons; nine grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; a niece; and two nephews.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Larry “Fred” Head; a daughter, Debbie L. Head; two brothers, George and John Head; and a sister, Anna Fly.
The service will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday at Carson-Wall Funeral Home. Burial will be in East Bethany Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Sunday.
