He was born on Sept. 8, 1949, in Wellington to William H. and Bethel J. (Adair) Hyten. He grew up there and graduated from Wellington High School. He attended the University of Kansas at Lawrence.
He had worked as a salesman of manufactured homes.
He loved gardening, fishing and cooking.
Survivors include his wife, Cathy (Cates) Hyten of the home; two daughters from a previous marriage, Lisa and Ami; a sister, Lorie Hyten of Olathe; and a mother-in-law, Betty Thomas of Parsons.
His parents preceded him in death.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at First Christian Church in Parsons. The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Monday at Carson-Wall Funeral Home.
